DAY SEVEN

A Hunger for God

Day Seven

 THE DESIRE TO KNOW GOD

“But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.” – Jeremiah 9:24 (ESV)

REFLECT

  1. In Jeremiah 9:23-24, to “boast” means to find hope and joy in the source of boasting. What are the usual things man boasts about? What are you inclined to boast about?

  1. Why should you only boast in the Lord?

  1. In light of all the injustices and unrighteousness happening in the world which act of God clearly demonstrates that the LORD “practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth?” Why?

RESPOND

  1. From Psalm 103:6-18 list down the attributes and traits portrayed of God by David.

  1. From the list above name 2 attributes of God you have clearly experienced in your life.

  1. From the same list can you identify 2 attributes which you seem to least know about God or have least experienced from Him?

“‘You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD.” – Jeremiah 29:13-14a (NLT)

PRAY

  • Intimacy (Pray for yourself): Ask the Lord to give you a heart for the nations of the earth. Consider partnering with missionaries.
  • Investing (Pray for our church): As our church continues to grow, pray that God would call some from among us as missionaries across the world.
  • Inviting (Pray for our communities): The nations of the world live in our city! Ask God to give us open doors into the internationals in our city. Pray that there would be a revival among them.
